    1. Thanks, Dawn. This is new for us here in Northwet Indiana. It has been fun reading the posts from fellow regional bloggers and I have discovered quite a few new interesting blogs to read!

  1. What a neat idea. I know on Absolute Write a person can join a blogging group for a month, where the blogging batton is passed from one to another, so to speak. Everyone comments on each other’s post at least once, in that way. Never heard of it done by geography, but it’s a clever idea.

    1. Jan, this is new for us here, but it really seems to be growing. There are some very talented bloggers here in Northwest INdiana. If you check http://www.blogcarnival.com, you can search for other carnivals. I found one from Australia (another area where blogging seems to be big, LOL!). Some are based on topic and some are based on Geography, so you may find some interesting Canadian ones!

  2. Thanks for hosting the Northwest Indiana Blog Carnival and for your valuable ideas.

I’m always excited to see the new posts authored by NWI folks! The carnival idea is still young — we had one running back in 2007 for a little while — but that was before blogging and social media exploded in the Region. I foresee the event continuing to grow as people learn about it and begin to contribute.

At the very least, it gets us interconnected as Northwest Indiana bloggers. At its best, it can be a force (among many) that helps us to become better writers and contributors to the community.
.-= Chris Hedges´s last blog ..It’s time for NWIndiana to take the social media lead =-.

    1. No, Chris, thank you for giving me the opportunity to host. You have done a great job organizing this blog carnival and I really think that it will continue to grow. Like you, I am already looking forward to next week’s entries to see what people are writing!

    1. Steve, I have been doing the offline thing myself! Hostings was a joy and I hope to do it again!

  3. hi Glinda,
This carnival rocks! I’m very impressed that you have 13 tweets!! Well done! How you judge your success when doing carnivals is, of course, up to you. I’m referring to the comment you left me at friedeggs.com

Traffic, seo, social media shares, or even relationships with other bloggers are all interesting ways to judge the effectiveness of your carnival.

Looks like I won’t be invited to send links since I’m an east coast blogger, but please feel free to send links to one of my carnivals 😀
.-= Cheryl from thatgirlisfunny´s last blog ..Get Organized! What to Do Next to Stay Young from the Inside Out =-.

    1. Chery, this blog carnival is new, so I think we consider it successful! I think the number of tweets has something to do with a lot of people here in the region being good about retweets to help advertise the carnival.

I didn’t realize until some of the comments that this regional blog carnival was such an unusual thing. 🙂 You are the only other person I have met so far with a blog carnival of their own! 🙂
